Creative art therapy is a great way to make the unconscious, conscious. It helps us view our inner world in the third person, gaining a new perspective—it’s not about being good at art. Art making (as therapy) encourages playful, often less intrusive, processing through image language.
Using art as part of our therapeutic journey, helps give deeper meaning and insight into our unconscious thoughts, feelings and unprocessed emotions, to enable healing to begin. Symbolic and metaphoric thinking are very powerful tools in problem solving and art also creates a space where people can experience themselves as creative, powerful people with choices.
"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate"
Carl Jung
